Mr Bower drove the coolest car when I was a teenager, he was a great father and friend to one of my best friends.
May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with his surviving family.

To Tom's family: Tom was my friend, and led me through the difficulties and satisfactions of dealing with TEPCO for many years. He was a good guy! Always had a big smile and a warm hello. You of course will miss him, and in my own GE-way, I will too. warm regards......Ron

Tom and I had so many fun talks while worked at GE and after he retired from GE. Tom liked to eat Chinese food. We had Chinese lunch together with other GE friends at least once each year in the past 18 years. I was so shocked to learn that Tom is in a different world after I sent him my annual Chinese New Year celebration lunch invitation for the year of Tiger. Tom's lovely smiling face will remain vividly in my memory.

Tom,or TAB as we referred to Tom,and I worked on projects from Europe to Japan while at GE. When we retired, we continued our friendship fishing in Baja and enjoying ourselves. Tom will be in our minds and toasted in Baja whenever the fishing crew gets together. He was a good work mate and a better fishing companion.

I worked with Tom, fished with him and shared a room with him on one of our Baja trips. He was as fine a gentleman as I've had the pleasure of knowing. I enjoyed working with him and honored to be considered a friend. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Wishing you strength for today and comfort in the days ahead, knowing how much your loved one meant to so many.

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Tom's passing. Mom called me on Saturday letting me know. All weekend I've been thinking about the times we spend in California. Dieter and I were talking about the time we spent the night at your house and Uncle Tom brought out the game he had invented. How he took the time to explain the game and play it with us. Just one of the many fond memories I have of Uncle Tom! He will be missed.

Please let me know if there is anything we can do. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I just wanted to send a note to express my condolences to you family. I only recently learned of Tom's passing and had wondered why I hadn't seen him outside over the past several months.

When I moved into the neighborhood eight years ago, Tom was one of the first people to greet me. When I was redoing my front yard, he was quick to wave or say hello and would help pass the time with some conversation whenever he could.

My boys looked forward to going to his house on Halloween. He would usually be sitting on the front porch and he always seemed to have an extra large candy bar set aside for them.

Like I said, I hadn't seen Tom around for a while, but he will be missed.

I was totally shockedd and saddedned to learn of Tom's passing. He was one of the really nice guys at GE.

During the years Tom was Manager of the Technology Exchange Program, I was Manager of Technology Marketing. We had continuous interaction over those years and it was always pleasant and business like. He was one of the "good guys". Subsequently, we were both members of the "Old Fueler" wine tasting group and the hiking group.

We all enjoyed Tom's Friendship and he will be missed.

With profound sympathy.

I wish you God's grace as you go through this time. I know that it is difficult to experience such a loss and may your pain ease with time.

Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room.

I am I, and you are you, whatever we were to each other we still are.

Call me my own familiar name, speak to me in the easy way we always used. Put no difference into your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes together.

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without any effort, without a trace of shadow in it.

Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same that it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity. What is death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well.

What a terrible shock for me today to learn of Tom's death! We spent so many good times working together, mostly in Germany and Italy, I can't believe he's gone. The sorrow will pass slowly, but the happy memories will remain.

With great sympathy... I hope you know that my caring thoughts never leave your side.

In Sympathy and Friendship. No one can experience this sadness as you do. For your feelings are unique and very personal to you... No one can begin to know exactly how you feel, Except to know that sorrow such as yours is deep and real - But if you need some comfort and some help to see you through, Just know how much you're cared for by all those who think of you.

Keeping You Close in Thought.

I'm so sorry to hear about dad, and I know it must be an extremely difficult time for you and mom.

The thoughts of dad come through my mind many times these past weeks and I truly do miss his laugh, his conversations, his opinions...In my mind, he will always be a great man who gave the warmest hugs and absolutely the best conversations.

The next time you look up in the sky and see a bright shining star, do know that dad is smiling upon you.

In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I will be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing when you look at the sky at night. And there is sweetness in the laughter of all the stars and in the memories of those you love.

My father was not a big fan for funerals; however, he was a big fan of many other things - including books. We have created this personal guest book to invite friends and family to share their thoughts and memories of Thomas Austin Bower. Those who have sent cards through the mail will have their entries placed on this guest book as well. The guest book will be printed a year from his passing - August 01, 2010, we ask that if there is something that reminds you of him in the coming year that you would like to share, please feel free to share as many memories as you would like. Thank you for your thoughts and memories.
