Thomas Budner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 7, 2024.
Thomas Ronald Budner, born on April 21, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, in San Marcos, Texas. He was 70 years old. Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Michael and Melanie Budner, and his brother, Robert Budner.

Thomas is survived by his devoted husband, John Blackman, and his cherished siblings: Michael Budner and his fiancé Amy Kumnick, Mark Budner and his wife Linda, and his sister Susan Daly and her husband Matthew. He was a loving uncle to Ryan Daly, Allison Gries and her husband Benjamin, and Madalyn Budner. He was also a loving cousin to many.

A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Thomas carried his love for his hometown team wherever he went. His career with the Forestry Service in California was marked by dedication and his deep respect for nature. Thomas was known for his quirky, dry sense of humor, which endeared him to friends and family alike. His brilliant mind and vast wealth of knowledge were gifts he generously shared with those around him.

Thomas's life was a testament to the power of kindness, intellect, and humor. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A private memorial service will be held at a future date to honor his life and contributions.

Tom didn't use Harriet's name, he always called her "Cuz" and this is a memory that is precious. Tom was intelligent, patient, honorable, and had the best sense of humor. Our hearts are broken and we are missing you. All our love, Harriet (Budner) & Phil, David, Sherry (Cowan) & John, James, and Henry

Tom was an amazing brother who never failed to make me laugh. My heart will always have a missing piece now that he is gone. Love you forever, Tom.
