Thomas William Buhman

Tom Buhman passed away peacefully Wednesday September 20,2023 after a short battle with cancer. Tom was born to Marvin"Bud" & Alice Buhman. He graduated from LeMars High School class of 1961. He made the life-changing move to Phoenix, Arizona, where he spent the remainder of his days, deeply cherishing the desert. Tom had a vibrant personality, he had a zest for life that was evident in his many passions. He enjoyed trying his luck at casinos, hunting for treasures at yard sales, and embarking on motorhome adventures. Tom had a creative side too, as he loved decorating, tending to his flower garden, and hosting lively parties for his friends and loved ones. He was a skilled card player, particularly fond of the game of Spades, and he relished competitive games like pool volleyball, and Badminton. For nearly four decades, Tom dedicated himself to his work, as the grocery and produce manager at AJ's Bashas Family Fine Foods from 1968 to 2005. His commitment to his career reflected his strong work ethic and contributed to the success of the store. Tom is survived by his brothers, Jeffery Buhman of Scottsdale and Mark and Mary Buhman of Mesa and close friend Shannon Ward. He leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of 11 nieces and nephews: Michelle Livermore, Amy Buhman-Cambell, Matt, Travis, Tonia, Ricky, Mick, Nicole Brokaw, Renee Bordan,Thurman, and Bruce Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin "Bud" and Alice Buhman, his brothers Eugene and Bruce, a niece Tammy Buhman, a nephew Benjamin Buhman, and his dear friend Larry Weber. A Celebration of Life in honor of Tom Buhman will be held on Saturday, October 7th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 8350 E McKellips, Scottsdale, Arizona 85257. Friends, family, and all who knew and loved Tom are welcome to attend and remember the joyful and vibrant life he lived. Tom will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his vivacious spirit, warm heart, and the countless memories he shared with those fortunate enough to have known him.
