We were cousins, 3 years apart. When visiting in Fair Oaks, Tom and I would always find outdoor things to do together when we were just teenagers. Swimming, walking, talking about our families, playing with his pet rat ''Porthos'', and hiking down the hillside to the American River below his home. On 4th of July gatherings, Toms favorite fireworks were anything with a ''boom'', or loud whistle, like ''piccolo petes''. He had a small dog, a weiner dog mix ?, named ''Pickles'' that followed us everywhere. He was very caring, sharing, and real good-hearted soul. He loved his family and friends, but especially admired, with deep affection, his Dad, Robert Case. One time ''Uncle Bob'' took me and Tom for a ride in his old Citron car and let Tom drive for a few miles and we almost wrecked. I was told ''let's not say anything about this when we get back''. Tom and I were between 12 - 15 years old then, and I never told anyone, until now. I'm about 63 and my dear cousin Tom would be 60 years old this year (2024). We lost contact after my Mother passed, his Dad passed, his Mom passed, and other family losses. I moved and left California, so last I knew Tom would have sadly been Thanksgiving 1986 (?). I'm so very sorry, Tom...you should still be here, you had ''a life worth living''. Until we meet again, cousin.....all my love, cousin Julia (swope), Oregon
