So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. As a student of communications, who ran copy for Tom and Bronnie on the City desk, and a stringer for the Telegram many years ago, I am proud to have worked for and learned from such an amazing group of newsmen and women- Tom and Liz, Bronnie, Andi and Lynne, and Lenny, Chris, Betty and Lanava, to name just a few. My thoughts and prayers for you Liz, and your entire family.

Liz, Ben & Dan, I am very sorry for your loss. Always enjoyed Tom's company during our years growing up on Packachoag Hill in Auburn. May God bestow blessings upon your family at this difficult time.

Dear Liz, Ben & Dan, I'm very sorry for your great loss. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers in a special way during these difficult days. I wish I had known Tom better. However, I certainly observed his love for life and many gifts shining through his beloved sons over a decade ago at Blessed Sacrament Church in Worcester. Liz, Ben & Dan, May the Lord ease your sadness and strengthen your hope. One day we shall joyfully greet Tom again when the love of Christ, which conquers all things, destroys even death itself.

Liz, Ben & Dan, I am very sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers in a special way during these difficult days. I wish I had known Tom better. However, anyone who crossed paths with you, Ben & Dan, could see your father's love for life and his many gifts living in you. I witnessed this a decade ago at Blessed Sacrament Church, and I know that these beautiful qualities will remain in you forever. Liz, Ben & Dan, may the Lord ease your sadness and strengthen your hope. One day we shall joyfully greet Tom again when the love of Christ, which conquers all things, destroys even death itself.

Liz,
So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Will always remember him as the guy who got the T&G's web site off the ground. Great job. Also ran into him many times at the Globe while attending meetings and we always had a nice chat. Be strong.

Liz,

As you know, I was in the Toy Dept. and Tom was dealing with news of real consequence, so our interactions were somewhat limited, but I also admired his news judgment, intellect and self-assured nature. He was a fine man!

My condolences to you and the boys.

Liz,
Tom was a wonderful man -- warm, thoughtful, and generous with his insights about the newspaper business whenever I asked. He also lit up when we chatted about you and your wonderful family.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Liz, My deepest sympathies to you and your sons. I consider myself most fortunate to have known and worked for Tom. He was very fair as a boss, and I learned a lot from him. More importantly, he was stand-up guy and a terrific person. I also remember how important family was to him. He will be missed, though he will always be remembered.

My sympathy to you, liz, and and your family. I knew from Facebook that you were a strong family. Working across the aisle, he and I may not have been close friends, but we were friendly enemies in the competition between the Telegram and Gazette.

Tom and I met at our first day at Harvard and became lifelong friends. He, Liz, Ben and Daniel welcomed me often into their homes when I visited New England.

For those of us who are about Tom's age, we remember the difference between AM and FM radio. Tom had an "FM voice". It could boom as loud as he needed to be but I especially remember it when it was so deep and mellow. Even now as I think of Tom, it's his voice that stirs the memories. What I wouldn't give to have the gift of voice (both metaphorically and in reality) like his.

Tom will be sorely missed, but live on in his loved ones. I especially remember the things he would do with a twinkle in his eyes, like filling Liz's Christmas stocking each year with the most colorful socks he could find!

I miss Tom already. He was an extraordinary person. I sat (and stood) with Tom and the Harvard band for the second half of the Harvard Princeton football game last fall. He played great!!! ... and was in high spirits. Tom was a terrific guy.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom at The Boston Globe. Like so many who have had this opportunity, I learned a great deal from him in every meeting we had. Typically I also found myself laughing. Tom had a way of expressing himself with that dry whit that few people can master. He was a brilliant man, a good friend to all, and above all else a devoted family man. The world will be a little dimmer without him in it.
