Thomas Blair Couture, 75, of Englewood, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Englewood Community Hospital. Born on January 30, 1940 in Schenectady, NY, he had been a resident of Charlotte County since 1993, coming from NY. A retired Schenectady police officer, he retired in 1991 from the Detectives Division with 23-1/2 years on the job. Tom enjoyed making his homemade sausage, cooking his famous sauce, spending time with his family and taking cat naps with Lucky, his cat. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Cynthia (Sobieski) Couture; three sons, Thomas of Englewood, FL, Steven of Schenectady, NY, Christopher (Lindy) of Englewood, FL; one sister, Adele Famiano of Schenectady, NY; and five grandchildren, Steven Jr., Ryan, Tommy III, Mattie and Lena. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Englewood Community Funeral Home with Private Crematory, 3070 South McCall Road.
