Tom was such an interesting person who had an important influence on my life. I will never forget our discussions on the porch, our moments in and around his pool, the many great times we could spend together in the US and also in Switzerland. He was so down-to-earth, always curious, and very close to nature. He showed me how America could be and how important it is to care of nature and friendship. I miss him so much. Now I must live with the fact that there would have been so many things I wanted to tell and show him, so many things I wanted to talk about. Tom, my close friend, I hope you have a great time wherever you are. I will never forget you, and thank you for all you did, for all the momens we had together. You were very important to me, and you will always be!

Mr. Craig was always a kind man to me while I worked for him at Summit Hills. I always enjoyed getting work orders from him so I could catch up and chat for a few minutes during the work day. He will be missed even by a stranger like myself. Condolences to the family and God bless.

I work for Tom for many years, he always showed me respect and kindness, I also got to enjoy his sense of humor, he wasn´t as serious as he looked. I learned to love him and admire many of his qualities. He will always hold a special place in my memories and heart.
I hope you find comfort and peace during these difficult times.

I am so saddened to hear of this news. Tom and I were best friends from play school and kindergarten , playing together at each other´s houses as youngsters, and growing up together. He had a brilliant mind , a wonderful and friendly personality , and was the personification of a southern gentleman . I moved to Atlanta a while ago, but we corresponded from time to time , and his words were always " spot on" with whatever topic we discussed . He will be missed by me and so many people, and the world is darkened by his absence . Condolences to his family and friends .
and growing up together

My European History teacher in 1969 at SHS where he wrangled me a college scholarship. 40 years later recruited him to serve on Upcountry History Museum Board. After all those years, still hard to call him Tom instead of Mr. Craig. A life well lived

I was fortunate to know Mr. Craig as my principal at Jesse Boyd in the mid-1970's. Then we reconnected when he was over guidance at Spartan High in the mid-1980's. Mr. Craig was always approachable, thoughtful, and kind. My thoughts are with his family. He will be missed.

A descendant of Revolutionary Patriots who carved our Community out of the wilderness. His legacy in the preservation, and promotion of the role of the original "Spartans" in the purchase of American Freedom will continue even in his absence. I will miss his visits to the Colonial Garden.

Tom was a good friend who had an amazing intellect. He was proud of his heritage and loved Cragmoor and it's woods and pastures and sometimes would entertain friends with nice dinners when he was a little younger. While a man of means, he lived so frugally we would have to say that he was years ahead of us all showing the fallacy of overt consumerism. While we joked about it then he made a valuable point as to what to value in life.

I enjoyed him as my European History teacher at SHS in 1970. I remember he invited Fritz Hollings and Strom Thurmond (not at the same time) to visit our class and we were able to ask them questions. He will be missed.
