Thomas Davidsen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 26, 2025.
Thomas Sheridan "Tom" Davidsen passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by the care of his friends and children. He had made his home at Cactus Country RV for the past decade.

Born on December 3, 1943, in Adair, Iowa, Tom was the second son of Oswald and Vera Davidsen. He grew up on the family farm west of Guthrie Center alongside his two brothers, Jim and Mike. Tom attended Bear Grove No. 5 Country Day School and Guthrie Center High School before relocating with his family to Greeley, Colorado. After graduating from Greeley Central High School in 1962, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his service, he was stationed primarily at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, where he worked as a B-52 bomber mechanic until his honorable discharge in 1966.

Following his military service, Tom began a career with IBM in Boulder, Colorado. On October 12, 1969, he married Sharon Ann Lewis. Together they had two children: Kristine Lynn Davidsen and Shawn Thomas Davidsen. In 1979, Tom transferred to IBM's new plant in Tucson, Arizona, and later moved to Austin, Texas in 1989. After retiring from IBM in 1991, he returned to Colorado, living in Greeley and later Walden.

Tom was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon; his brothers; sisters-in-law Charlene and Connie; and his parents. He is survived by his daughter Kristi of Tucson, Arizona; his son Shawn of Queen Creek, Arizona; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening, carpentry, four-wheeling, playing games on his tablet, making peanut brittle, and spending time with his best friend Carolee Clopton.

A memorial service will be held on May 29 at Desert Sunset Funeral Home, 3081 West Orange Grove Road, Tucson, AZ 85741 (9:00 a.m. Viewing, 10:00 a.m. Service), followed by an Commital with military honors at Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at Marana.

Uncle Tom, you will be greatly missed.
We just talked not too long ago. If only I'd have known it would be our last. I love you!
