Thomas Clifton Dawkins, 87, passed away on April 19, 2017 at his residence in Starkville, MS.
He was the retired owner of Dawkins Insurance and Dawkins Rentals and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harmon Dawkins and Pearl Wilbourn Dawkins. He is survived by his wife, Shirley McKee Simmons Dawkins of Starkville, MS; and brother, Charles Dawkins of Grenada, MS. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN or Habitat for Humanity. You can leave the family a condolence at: www.welchfuneralhomes.com

Tom was such an interesting man whose company everyone enjoyed. He loved Shirley and her hobbies. When I visited them he would say, "Please ask Shirley to show you her garden. She loves her garden." Tom was a big supporter of Mississippi State and its athletics. I enjoyed seeing him at Quarterback Club. . Jim and I will miss Tom and keep Shirley in our prayers.
