DE COSTER, THOMAS G. 'TOM' Kaukauna Thomas G. DeCoster, age 57 years, died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1948 in Appleton, the son of the late Robert P. and Betty Winter DeCoster. Tom served in the U.S. Army during 1968-1970 in Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting up north and fishing in Canada. Tom played in many cribbage tournaments and played cards with family and friends. He was known as the 'master chef' with his excellent grilling skills. Tom loved being up north with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters: Shelley Meyerhofer, Kaukauna and Jodi Paul Gardner, Seymour; his son, Ross DeCoster, Kaukauna; grandchildren: Hannah, Avah and Olivia Gardner; Andrew, Brooke Meyerhofer and future grandson; brother, Robert Ellen DeCoster, Kaukauna; sisters: Kay Van Dera, Kaukauna and Mary Paul Verbeten, Freedom; nieces and nephews: Marisa Quinn Shartner, Adam Doell, Carl and Craig Van Dera, Kristin Verbeten, Karen, Sara, Steve, Jeff and Emily Goetzman; Paige, Scott and Aimee Van De Hey; Holly and Rob Jacques. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Diane and infant nephew Scott Verbeten. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at FARGO FUNERAL HOME. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Tom's gift was to be an organ and tissue donor so that others will benefit from him. A special thank you to Marty DeCoster for all the help he gave Tom, the doctors and nurses at Appleton Medical Center and to Dick and Maureen Winter for all their love and support and all other family and friends who offered their prayers and love.
