Thomas E. Demarest Sr. SchenectadyOne year ago today, Thomas E. Demarest Sr. lost his battle with heart and lung disease and joined his wife, Lorraine in heaven. He lived only 18 months after she passed. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Theresa Marie Gallo (Demarest) and his son, Harold L. Demarest; along with his four brothers. Tom was born in 1923 to Harold L. Demarest and Katherine V. Thackeray-Demarest and lived in Schenectady all of his life. He was a member of the Local 370 Carpenters Union and spent many years working for Union College. Tom will be remembered for always lending a helping hand and for making people laugh. He made the best out of every situation, no matter how devastating. He is deeply missed by his family and friends. Tom is survived by his sons, Thomas E. Demarest, Jr., Gary McNamara, and Scott Demarest; by his daughter, Aimee Demarest-Tompkins and by his sister-in-law, Lynnette Masterpolo. He is also survived by his best friends, Ronald and Christa Olszewski; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him.

Tom will be missed, be comforted by your fond memories shared together, and knowing he is asleep in the grave, free from pain and suffering Ecc9:5 and God promises to remember our love ones and reward them with eternal life when he makes all things new

Tom was a great friend and person. His charity to those who needed help was above and beyond. He was known for pitching in for anyone and he gave his all. I loved him as a brother and know he is with Our Lord.
