Thomas Andrew Dobosh

Thomas (Tom) Dobosh, 79, died peacefully on May 2, 2024 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In the days preceding his death, Tom was surrounded by family and, while there were the inevitable tears that come with the loss of such a wonderful man, there was also so much laughter as a lifetime of memories were shared.

Tom is survived by his two children: Melissa Dobosh (Peter Breit) and Brian Dobosh (Whitney Vargas); five granddaughters: Lila & Charlotte Breit, Hannah, Reagan, & Madison Dobosh; sister, Peggy Dumas (Cleive) and her family; and brother-in-law and best friend, Terry Davis (Cynthia Carlson).

Born on June 15, 1944 to Andrew (Andy) and Elizabeth (Betty) Dobosh, Tom grew up in Bethlehem, PA and attended Muhlenberg College. After college, he served in the Marine Corps Reserves and moved to Washington, DC to begin his career in accounting. On one wild night, he met his future wife, Sherry Davis. They were married on April 15, 1978 and built a beautiful life in Vienna, VA. Tom and Sherry loved to entertain and many memories were made with family and friends huddled up around Tom's bar. Fixtures on the sidelines, they rarely, if ever, missed Melissa or Brian's numerous sporting events or activities. Tom and Sherry were together until her death on October 27, 2010 and, in 2017, he moved to Iowa to be closer to family.

Tom loved sports and was especially passionate about Penn State Wrestling and Football, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Yankees. Even in the late stages of Alzheimer's Disease, he could still spout off Penn State wrestling statistics.

He will be laid to rest with his wife and parents in a private graveside service at Bethlehem Memorial Park on May 28, 2024. A proud and unflinchingly supportive father and grandfather, Tom will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on in his five beautiful granddaughters who simply adored their Papa/Pop.
