Lt. Col., (USAF, RET.) Thomas Joseph Dooley, 86, of Jacksonville, passed away December 25, 2004. He was born February 14, 1918 in the Bronx, New York to William and Catherine Dooley. Mr. Dooley attended school in the New York area and began his military career with the Army Air Corps later becoming a member of the US Air Force, retiring after twenty-six years of service. He was the Executive Director of Downtown Little Rock Unlimited Progress, later becoming the Recorder of the Scimitar Shrine. Mr. Dooley was a 33rd Degree Mason, a member of Oriental Lodge #74, Spokane, WA, Scimitar Shrine, Scottish, and York Rite, Royal Arch Masons, Order of Eastern Star, Bendemeer Grotto, Royal Order of Jesters, Knights Commander, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Most of his life he spent serving children and adults alike through the various organizations to which he belonged allowing him to touch the lives of many people, some of whom he never met personally. His sparkling blue eyes, his sense of humor, his kind heart, his gentle Christian spirit and his great strength will be missed and remembered by his family and those who knew him. The unconditional love he gave his family remains always.

He is survived by his much loved wife of fifty years, Kay; his son, William Michael Dooley, his daughters, Jane Sanchez and her husband Phil, Anne McCoin and her husband Jim, Karin Mushrush and her husband Paul, Lorin Ezell and her husband Denver and his grandchildren, Dax J. Toler, Amanda K. Brandon, and Samantha K. Mushrush.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Daugherty, Dr. Lawrence Mendlesohn, C.A.R.T.I. North Little Rock and the nurses and staff of the 10th floor of Baptist Medical Center Little Rock.

Funeral Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Rest Hills Funeral Home 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas
