Although I only knew Tom for a brief fortnight during his recent Turkey cycling trip, I was very much taken by his gentle and approachable personality. The obituary was so right. He was really one of the good guys on earth : warm, unpretentious, caring and funny as well as being good fun to be around. The world can do with a lot more people like Tom. I'm sorry not to have known him better.

I first met Tom "on the job" in the early Spring of 1978, so its been 30 years that we've been friends. We only worked together a couple of times after that, but have socialized together ever since. The last thing we did together was see "There Will Be Blood" on the 19th of January. Tight lines and straight shooting, Tom!

My times with Tom were as a "dinner and movie" pal with friend Richard and my husband Geordie. A steady guy, cheerful, a great listener, a story teller. I well remember his descriptions of the many very interesting trips Tom took with Helen. I will miss his presence greatly at our dinners and will take to heart his good advice on keeping good health. My deepest condolences to Tom's family.

Tom was a room mate after high school and always a great guy. I was lucky enough to run into Tom about 6 months ago. I know his family will miss him

Too many of our schoolmates gone too soon. Tom was a good one.
