Thomas Russell Eggert

Tom Eggert, age 66 of Appleton, passed away unexpectantly at his home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Tom was born in Chicagoland on May 12, 1958, son of the late Russell and Marie (Ruane) Eggert. Following his high school education in Niles, Illinois, he earned a degree from Northwestern University. Tom worked as an Air Traffic Controller in Green Bay his entire career. The most stressful times were during the Packer games.

Tom was a collector and enjoyed working with his hands. He did wood-working and created some beautiful items. He was interested in Bonsai, joined a club and worked with many bonsai trees. He enjoyed doing yardwork with his neighbor Bill. He was an extremely talented musician with a specialty in playing the violin. Hearing him play gave joy to whomever heard it. He enjoyed travel and went on many trips with friends/family around the country and around the world.

Tom is survived by his dear friends and neighbors: Bill and Angie Recker; and in Illinois his longtime family friends the DeLorenzo and Castiglia families. There are also many nieces, nephews of his brother Jerry Eggert and sister Nadine, cousins from his Aunt Eileen Thoss, other relatives, and many friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Karen, and half-brother Russell "Jerry" and a half-sister Nadine.

A graveside memorial service for Tom will be held on Saturday August 9th 2025 at 10:30 at Mount Emblem Cemetery, 520 E Grand Ave, Elmhurst Illinois.
