Thomas Fewster Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 3, 2025.
Tom was the son of Thomas and Barbara Fewster, born on April 19, 1964 in Toledo, OH and was raised in the Columbus area. Tom is survived by his daughter Kiley Marra with husband Brett and granddaughter Rylee Taylor; and son Connor and wife Lauren; as well as his sister Lori Thuente, husband Dean and nephews Truman and Winston.

Tom graduated from Big Walnut High School in Sunbury, OH in 1982 and began attending Ashland University. He joined the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and made many lifelong friends. Following graduation, he moved to Oakbrook, IL where he met his, now former, wife Beverly (nee Rocque). Together, they married and moved to FL to run several McDonald's franchises with Tom Sr. Here they had Kiley and Connor and developed strong friendships in the Ft. Myers community. He was so proud of his children, attending their sporting events and supporting them in every way, while teaching them the value of education and hard work.

McDonald's was a lifelong career and passion for Tom. When the family sold the stores in 2015, Tom knew he was not done serving the community and began volunteering several days a week, with the Ronald McDonald House of SW Florida and its corresponding Family Room at Golisano Children's Hospital; the Rotary Club South of Ft. Myers, giving countless hours to fundraising and other activities; and lastly, Gulf Coast Hospital where he transported patients and served the Endoscopy Center. Additionally, he (and former wife Beverly) sponsored scholarships for students in the Entrepreneurship Program at FGCU and supported LeeHealth Foundation.

Tommy loved his family and friends, the Everblades hockey team, a good party and fancy cars. Tom had hoped to join the Senior Golf Tour someday. If you were his friend, he was loyal to you till the end. He died surrounded by family and watching the Memorial Golf Tournament hosted in his hometown of Columbus.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida https://rmhcswfl.org/donate/

So surprised and sorry about Tons passing. He was my neighbor at The Cypress and we worked together to get the bench out front. He will be missed.

Monday Rotary meetings won´t be the same without seeing Tom. His smile would brighten any day. Being up north for several weeks, it was sad to learn of his passing.
With deepest sympathies,

Among other great things about Tom....he was a great Rotarian. I loved sitting with him, because he has such a great sense of humor. Like most Rotarians, he loved to serve others and work toward making this world a better place. My sympathy to the family!!

In loving memory of our dear friend Tom, whose life was cut far too short. We will always cherish the memories we shared-watching our kids grow up together on the ice with Jr. Everblades Hockey, laughing at Halloween parties, and spending carefree days & evening by the hotel pool at hockey tournaments. Tom´s kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering generosity left a lasting mark on all of us and on the entire SWFL community. He touched countless lives through his selfless support of local charities and his passion for giving back.

Rest in peace, Tom. Your spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.

Tom was such a kind person to everyone, he and Beverly created two amazing people (Kiley and Connor). I feel so lucky to have known him and made lifelong friendships with his children.

A beautiful tribute to a kind, generous and thoughtful friend to so many. We had years of memories with the kids, skiing, OSU games and euchre by the pool. He will be deeply missed. I have many photos to share.
