Thomas Fishbein

I met Tom and Claudia in January, 1975, in Nice France. They were staying in the same Hotel as us, but had the balcony room, which they graciously shared. As a small cadre of Americans in winter weather, we bonded in that month. We stayed in touch for a while, but lost contact. I am sad to find this obituary, but remember him positively and wish his family well.

As Nana Irma said about Tom, he entered the lives of the students he taught as a Chicago Public School teacher. Tom entered all of our lives and his amazing spirit and soul will live on forever.
Love you Tom forever.

My parents and Tom's were friends years before I met Tom; then he and I were friends as kids and in high school, more than 50 years ago. We lost touch, but I was glad that I was able to visit with him and Claudia a few months ago. He will be missed.

Our thoughts are with the Fishbein family. We enjoyed meeting the entire family at Robin and Jen's wedding, it was clear how proud Tom was of his children.

I have known the Fishbein family for over 50 years. I met Tom's sister Sally the summer before our Freshman year in high school. I spent many days at their home in Glencoe and had too many good times there to count. Although I did not know Tom well, I know he was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to so many. He suffered a long time. May he ow rest in peace.
