I was saddened to hear that Tom has passed. He was the funniest person I've met, and he really liked to have fun at work. When we worked together at State Street, I can still picture him acting out a slam dunk after he won a tax argument with a tax partner from one of the Big 4 firms. He was the master of the mute button on the phone - like Bob Uecker - he would hit the mute, say something funny to the people in the room, and then go back to the call as if nothing happened. Make those angels laugh, Tom!

Julie, Tom's Family & Friends; I met Tom on a cold February night in NH. We were sitting around the infamous "Philly Barrel" fire at a hunting camp in the woods east of my home. It was ice-fishing weekend. Flanders impressed me as a scholar and a thinker. I came to know him as a curious, kind and generous man. Here's a prime example: A few years ago he was ready to move on from his classic Saab 9-3. I happened to own the same model, so what'd he do with his? Sold it to me for a dollar. (Would have been gratis but a contract needs consideration to make it valid.) Tom led a considerably great life. RIP Mr. Flanagan.

Julie, Sean, Mia and the rest of the family. I am sorry that I cannot be there today to celebrate Tom´s amazing life with you as we are still traveling out of the country, but spent time today thinking about you all and saying a prayer for all.

I was just remembering when I first met Tom in Estes Park that summer Julie and he drove up.
-in the first hour, he identified the beginning words of crime and punishment, and for whom the bell tolls
-then he sat in frightened awe as he encountered the Slater`s in a game of monopoly
-next day we went to grand Lake for lunch. I remember sitting next to him feeling resentful. He was going to take my daughter away.

Dear Julie and family,
Julie, I was thinking about you today so I did an internet search and found out about Tom. I am so very sorry for your loss. I wish I could have met him. I lost Wayne 3 1/2 years ago so I understand what you're going through. I am thinking of you, my dear old friend, during this difficult time. Love to you and your family.

I don´t even know where to begin. Tom and the entire Flanagan family were such an integral part of my childhood. And then, of course, as my brother Patrick´s best friend and post-college roommate (in Brooklyn and Boston) Tom the young man became such an integral part of my early adulthood. Too many memories to share, all accompanied by laughter - especially that time he refused to
get out of the car during a 4th of July picnic my family was hosting at 50 William. I can´t remember exactly why he was boycotting the picnic, but Tom was always a man of principle - so I trust he had good reason, and I recall having mad respect for his choice to take a stand against the tyranny of backyard BBQs during the Reagan era All my love to the entire family, these stories will live on with the GF crew...xoK

Tom and the rest of the Flanagan boys were the first friends I ever had on this planet, as I met them when I was four or five years old. I will always remember hanging out with Tom on the Flanagan porch, shooting hoops, trading baseball cards and listening to the best music of the day. I hadn't seen Tom in years but I will always have vivid and fond memories of him. My deepest condolences to the Flanagan family. Rest in peace, Tom.

May his children and family have some comfort knowing how well liked Tom is. As a member of the Bayberry Irish Club (the Flanagan's and Turleys), it was always nice to catch up. I have been praying for Tom since running into Tom and Maureen last spring. Tom had the Irish wit, humor and grace. Until we meet again....

Thomas Peter. Aka the Flan Man.
He was the pied piper of Bayberry Court. We followed him everywhere. Flan made up the games, created rules geared toward friendly chaos, always had great tunes and the mastermind of some savage nicknames. Chubby Buckers, Apeie, Cracker, Railzey....miss you already Flan. R.I.P. brother.

Flanny has been an amazing friend for the past 45 years. I have been incredibly blessed! So many fond memories of spending time together at The Big East Tournament, camping on Lake George and many spirited gatherings over the years with close friends and family. Flanny´s greatest gift was his incredible sense of humor. The "Irish Comedian" had a delivery that brought tears of laughter. I miss my good friend and brother. His spirit will live on with his close friends and family forever. Rest in Peace Flanny. I love ya!

Tom was a man whose kindness and humility left an indelible mark on my heart in the little over a month I had the privilege of caring for him-a time that felt like years in its depth and meaning. When I first arrived, I was told he valued his independence, but what I discovered was so much more. Tom was a sweet, cooperative soul who deeply appreciated every act of care, from our walks around the loop to the meals I prepared. He never missed a chance to express his gratitude, always responding enthusiastically to "the plan" for the day. He was, without a doubt, a man with a plan, always ready to embrace the moments ahead.
Tom´s love for family and friends was evident in every story he shared and the light in his eyes when he spoke of them. He had a way of making you feel like you were part of his cherished world, and in doing so, he reminded me of the profound beauty in human connection.
It was incredibly difficult to witness his sudden decline, to see him switch up so quickly, and to hold back tears as he gasped for his last breath. Yet, I am consoled by the thought that he is now in a better place, free from pain and at peace. Tom, you taught me so much about life, love, and resilience in such a short time. Rest well-you will forever be remembered

Memories of PWC working with Tom always bring a smile. Hearing him imitate characters from South Park or Austin Powers always made me laugh back in the day. He was such a special and funny friend. Condolences to all who knew him.

I never met Tom in person but we spoke on the phone and texted often after Julie connected us last year. As a Glioblastoma patient myself he valued my prospective on this horrible disease. May he rest in peace...

Tom was always Tom. Something noble and beautiful about him. Even with years passing between visits. Spending time with him was always fun and comfortable. He graced us with a memory from every engagement, whether sharing a laugh about a funny incident he experienced, one of his patented acerbic views on a subject, talking about old times, or just solid conversation on a range of issues. Love you Flan.

Not only will I remember Tom´s intellect and ability to recall minute details about his beloved thoroughbred horses, but will always remember his quick wit and sarcastic humor. Days / nights in Saratoga or NYC, hearing he and Julian go back and forth were pure entertainment. I will miss my friend and former horse co-owner Tom. We have certainly lost a great person and the world will be less bright without him in it. You put up an amazing fight, Tommy, now Rest in Peace.
