Thomas "Tom" Goode

Thomas "Tom" Goode, aged 83, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, Massachusetts. Born on June 25, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, Tom was a lifelong problem solver and a well-respected figure in the insurance industry.

Tom's educational journey began at St. Mary's Catholic School in Brookline, followed by Boston College High School and later, Boston College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. His career was marked by several executive roles within the insurance industry, culminating in his ownership of an insurance staffing company and a consulting firm. He also served as the president of a captive insurance company in Bermuda.

Outside of his professional life, Tom was a devoted husband to his late wife, Deanna, and a loving father to his daughters Susan LeClaire and Lauren L., and step-children, Christopher and John "Trip" Coggin. His family brought him immense joy, particularly his grandchildren, Lindsay, Jimmy, Megan, and Max, to whom he imparted valuable life lessons and wisdom.

Tom's passion for the outdoors and sports was unmistakable. He enjoyed diving, running, skiing, tennis, racquetball, and golf. His adventures took him from local outings with Deanna to the Caribbean and Bermuda, as well as ski trips across New England and travels throughout Europe. A voracious reader, Tom was also keenly interested in the stock market, often sharing his insights with his grandson Max.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan LeClaire, her children Lindsay and Jimmy; Lauren L., her children Megan and Max, and her husband Paul; his sister Regina Zadourian, her husband Ed, and their children Kevin, Keith, and Kristen; nieces Denise Vestute and Shannon Goode; and nephew Ted Langmeyer. He was preceded in death by his wife Deanna Goode, brother Paul Goode, sister Patricia Goode, and his parents Thomas and Catherine Goode, along with several aunts and uncles.

A private family memorial service was held on October 12, 2024, at the Solimine Funeral Home in Lynn, Massachusetts, which assisted the family during their time of loss. Tom's life was a testament to his enduring wit, wisdom, and the deep bonds he shared with family and friends. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his generous spirit and the indelible impact he made on all who knew him.
