I had the opportunity to coach Tom in baseball, and also the opporutnity to hire him as a coach. Tom was always so level-headed and easy to work with. The kids loved and respected him.

Gone far too young. Rest easy, my friend. You will be remembered.

My heart goes out to the Hamel Family. Losing a child must be one, if not 'the hardest' thing in this entire world to experience. I am sending prayers and comfort your way; Pat, Joe, Elizabeth (and family), Nick, Stephen.

Oh Thomas, you were one of my favorite people growing up. A very pivotal and influential friend to so many of us during high school and beyond. You will always hold a piece of my heart. Deepest condolences to the Hamel family. We will miss you!

Thoughtful. Kind. Hilarious. Great friend.

That is what Tom is.

An incredible man who was always the rational voice on our text chain. A chain that was active for 16 years. Weddings, kids, houses, cars, new jobs...the chain lasted it all. Never about our actual lives. Only about sports, tv shows, movies, and reminiscing (mostly making fun of each other) about our shenanigans when we all worked together.

I will always remember his deep, booming voice. His jovial laugh/snicker. His cunning and sharp wit.

We texted every single day. We laughed, we cried, we fought, we joked, we argued, we rejoiced. Every. Single. Day.

Tom, there will be a hole in our hearts for the rest of our lives. We will miss you every single day. We will also love and remember you every single day. Thank you for bringing out the best in us and for being our friend. We love you!

Tom, you were more than a friend - you were family. Even though life took us in different directions, our text chain always kept us connected. Whether it was the Pats, Sox, or Celts, we always found something to laugh about or argue over. I´ll keep defending the Jayson Tatum wall in your honor, and fantasy football will never be the same without you. I always admired your calm, steady way of looking at things. You´ll always be part of the chain, and I´ll miss you more than you know.

I met Tom via zoom back in 2018/2019 during a fantasy football draft. We shared a mutual friend who added him to our league. He fit right in immediately with the rest of the group. We unfortunately never met in person due to location but it never felt that way due to our banter and sports chatter. He was a fierce competitor and boy was he passionate about his Providence fryers. Tom, you are truly missed and we will never be able to fill the void of your absence. My condolences to his family and friends. I am truly sorry for your loss. We love you and miss you Tom.
