Sue and i just learned yesterday of Tom's passing. We feel very bad that we are so very late, and missed this announcement and weren't there for Tom's family at a viewing or funeral. Tom Hill was a friend to me, and after Tom met my Sue, I know my wife liked him also. How could anyone not like this man... I am writing this even though it's almost three years later, and feel horrible abut the tardiness of this, and am so very thankful that Sue found Tom's obit. for me this morning. I just felt like writing about this dear friend. I pray that Tom's loved ones receive this note somehow...
You see, I worked for Tom when I got my first job out of college at First Bank. I was a loan collector for a short period of time, and Tom was my first boss. Though I eventually moved on in my career out of banking and out of the area, for years when I would return to see family, I used to stop in at a bank somewhere in town to catch up with Tom to see how things were going with him. Whether it be St. Joseph Bank on 31, or out near Penn High School, or on Cleveland Road....I always enjoyed seeing Tom. He was always happy and a fun loving person. I'll never forget his golf stories, or how he liked to drive to California on vacation. I'll never forget his story about the robbery at the bank and how his wife saved his life.
Tom was a real wonderful and God loving person. If there is golf in heaven he is probably in a foursome.....with some of those he has played golf with before.
