Thomas Huston, age 61, of Kiester, MN, died Saturday, November 24, 2012, in Albert Lea, MN. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Kiester. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements. Thomas was born May 22, 1951 in Blue Earth, MN, the son of Louis and Junice (Garvick) Huston. He married Lisa Marie Peterson on November 3, 1979 in Kiester. Thomas attended Kiester High School, and then Vo-Tech in Albert Lea for drafting and welding. He worked for 25 years at 3M in Forest City, IA and then was a swine nursery manager for Choice Connections for 12 years, and recently retired. He loved animals, but his special passion was horses. He enjoyed working on his horsemanship as well as teaching his children throughout the years. He loved spending time in the outdoors, deer hunting, and doing yard work, mowing and gardening. He was the anchor of his family, with strong convictions. Thomas especially loved his children, his sons-in-law, and his grandson who was named after him. He was close to each of his nieces and nephews. Thomas is survived by his wife, Lisa, of Kiester; three children, MacKenzie (Phillip) Obermeyer of Rochester, MN, Megan (Amos) Boeck of Easton, MN, and Lee (special friend Kayla Nelson) of Kiester, MN; one grandson, Noah Tom Boeck of Easton, MN; siblings, Linda Huston of Elmore, MN, John (Laurie) Huston of Wells, MN, Marie (Bruce) Meist of Mankato, MN, Phillip (Rhonda) Huston of Lake Mills, IA, Lonnie (Tracy) Huston of Walters, MN, Jack Huston of Kiester, MN and Tim Huston of Kiester, MN; his mother, Junice Huston of Elmore, MN; sisters-in-law, Chris (Jim) Schaefer of Walters, MN, Pam (Rick) Hanson of Albert Lea, MN; mother-in-law, Norma Peterson of Albert Lea, MN; and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Huston; one brother, Larry Huston; father-in-law, Verle Peterson; and niece, Billie Lee Huston.
