I just learned of Tom's passing. He & I were at the Univ. of Tampa together & dated briefly in our freshman year. He was a great guy, lots of fun and just a wonderful person in general. He's going to be missed by many.

Dear Tonya and Tommy Jr., Matthew, and Nicholas: My heart goes out to all of you. Tom's friendship to me and many others from our beloved UT (University of Tampa) was wholesome, deep, and full of love, adventure, and lots of laughs. My wish for you boys is that you always can find your own world of love from family, a special loved one, adventures/travels with friends, and that you will have lots of laughter. Laughter at yourself, laughter at the ridiculousness of the world, and laughter with your loved ones as your father would. The friends we had in common from school know Tom as someone who cared about those around him, worked hard, was independent, and committed to making the world a better place. He could be a critic and he could be a sage and he could be a curmudgeon, sometimes all in the same paragraph. I will always love Tom for his talents, his character, and for always being himself. I love him for accepting me as I am which means a lot. Tom is a man who was a gem and I will miss him. I keep you - Tonya and the boys - in my heart, my thoughts, and my prayers. May Tom rest in peace. ** Perry

I recall many great memories with Tom back at the University of Tampa. He had infectious laugh, and a smile that lit up the room. Even his bad jokes were funny. Tom was a kind and caring person. So sorry to hear of his passing. Deepest sympathies to family and friends.

My deepest condolences to the Ilderton family and friends. Tommy was one of the best. We've lost another one of the best men I've known in my life far to soon. From his sense of humor, to his loyalty, to his willingness to help anyone he ever came in contact with. I will truly miss my dear friend. My God Bless you Tommy and welcome you home. Until we meet again, rest peacefully . Your friend, Charlie.
