I just learned about Tom's passing. When I first joined Shannopin, I would find in Tom's group on Saturdays. After golf, the dice cup would come out and Tom could always seem to roll the right combination he needed. I enjoyed knowing and being in your dads company. He was a good man.

You don't know me but I had the unique, not to mention always entertaining, pleasure of caddying for your father in the mid 1980's on many a Sunday with his illustrious golf group which included Ray North, Joe McMillan and Mr. Knapp. I loved Tom's humor and good natured ribbing of his golf mates. I can recall him launching into song, "Haaaaapppy Holidays, Haaaappy Holidays!" whenever he'd hit the green on a par three. Or when one of his opponents would have an uncomfortable two or three foot putt, he would dryly say, "Keep the tool box open." This always had a deliriously funny affect on Ray North who would inevitably miss the putt and storm off the green! You'll be happy to know that your father was always a gentleman to the caddies and a generous tipper. And so, to Tom, I wish you well in that great, green golf course in the sky. Hit 'em straight, my friend.

Sincerely, Jim Culley
