Thomas Kisicki Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 13, 2022.
On Saturday night, December 10, 2022, Thomas Kisicki, the dearly loved patriarch to our family, went home to be with the Lord. He was a man deeply loved by our family, he taught us and loved us well. None of us had to wonder how he felt about us. We were each shown by his warm eyes how much he loved us.
He was a devoted husband who loved his wife. After marrying his wife Mary (Hanigan) Kisicki in 1967, he served his country proudly and with honor as a sergeant in the army stationed in Germany.
Upon completing his service, he returned to Omaha, Nebraska, to begin his career as a journeyman plumber as a member of the Plumbers Local 16. Later, he followed in his father's footsteps to serve as chief plumbing inspector for the City of Omaha. After retirement, he enjoyed working as a volunteer at Lakeside Hospital.
Along with his wife, Tom was a devoted Catholic. They were members of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church where he proudly served the Lord as Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister.
He was preceded in death by his parents Creighton and Rose Kisicki, and is survived by sister Kathleen Cook (decd. Vince), brother Dr. James Kisicki (Karen) and his extended family and many good friends.
Left to carry on the legacy of his love are his son, Brian Kisicki and his daughter-in-law Laurie Kisicki, his daughter Christine Walker and son-in-law Jim Walker, and his daughter-in-law Sherry Kisicki (because once you were part of his family, you are family for life).
Tom had no greater joy than his grandchildren, all of whom adored him. Tearful farewells were said to him by Matthew Kisicki and wife Katie Kisicki, Kimberly Kisicki, Alessandra Derks and husband Brandon Derks, Rebecca Kisicki, Emma Walker, and Ian Opitz. Their loving care enabled him to be at home for a majority of his hospice care. We are grateful to the Josie Harper Hospice House for their incredible care of Tom in his final few days.
We are grateful for his life of love and devotion to his family, a legacy we won't forget.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, 10:00am at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church with interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
VISITATION with the family begins Friday, after 5:00pm at the Pacific Street Chapel with a WAKE service at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church or Josie Harper Hospice House.
