Thomas Kracinovich Sr, age 87 of Hayes, VA died on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester Courthouse, VA. He was born in Simpson, PA and lived in Brick, NJ, Leonardtown, MD, and Urbanna, VA before moving to Hayes, VA in 2018. He was employed for many years as a Manager at Goodyear Automotive Service Center in Brick and Vespia Tire and Auto Service Centers; retiring in 2009. He was a Veteran proudly serving his country for four years in the US Air Force, including Thule AFB in Greenland. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed traveling, sporting events, and spending time with his family. As the son of immigrant coal miner, Tom worked hard to provide for his family and saw all three of his sons graduate from college and pursue successful careers. Those who knew him were impressed by Tom’s gregarious nature and acceptance of all he met, regardless of their race, faith, or background. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Seraphia Molinaro Kracinovich in 2004, by his brother, Peter and his five sisters, Anna, Tina, Julia, and Mary. He is survived by his loving sons, Thomas Jr. and his wife, Donna of Brick, NJ, Stephen and his wife, Jeanne of Leonardtown, MD and their son and daughter, Robert and his wife, Stacey of Hopedale, MA and their four sons. He is also survived by his sister, Melica Murphy of Vienna, VA. At this time, all services will be private. Weatherhead Young Funeral Home in Brick is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Fisher House for military families or the American Cancer Society. Dear Tom, Stephen and Robert,
My sincere condolences to each of you and all your loved ones.
Uncle Tom was a wonderful person. Whenever I saw him and no matter where I saw him, he always had a smile on his face and a ready quip. The man was naturally funny and could always make me laugh!
Growing up, it was always a pleasure to spend time with both him and Aunt Sally. They were both amazing people.
I was fortunate in that my Mom (Aunt Millie) and I got to travel to Hayes and spend a lovely afternoon with Uncle Tom and Carole. I am overjoyed that the last memory I have of Uncle Tom was such a pleasant one.
I know its a cliché but that doesnt make it any less true: Uncle Tom will be missed by all.
Sincerely,
Cousin Steve Murphy

I am very saddened by the news of Tom's passing. You have my heartfelt sympathies. Since Tom and I were actually born on the same day in Simpson, PA and even lived on the same street for a long time, we were two people who were actually able to say that we knew each other our entire lives. I just talked to him about a week ago and will always remember him fondly and with laughter. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
