Thomas Kraeger

Tom, 76, passed away on July 4, 2025, in New Rochelle, NY, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Dayton, Ohio in 1949 to Alma (Bridge) and George Kraeger, Tom was the eldest of three children and is predeceased by his siblings, Ann and Peter. His early years were spent in Ohio, New Jersey and Massachusetts. He graduated from Wayland High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and later his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.

Tom enjoyed a long and respected career as an attorney, practicing law from the 1970s through the 2010s. He spent most of his professional life serving clients in Newport and New London, New Hampshire before relocating to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands where he passed the local Bar exam at age 60 and continued his legal career.

As part of the fourth generation of his family to cherish Lake Sunapee, Tom felt a deep connection to the area and loved spending his summers there with his extended relatives. He was an accomplished golfer and founding member of Baker Hill Golf Club in Newbury. A lifelong sports fan, Tom followed Boston's professional teams with devotion and remained a die-hard supporter of University of Michigan football and basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Matt and Jennie; and four grandchildren. He will be remembered for his sharp intellect and wit, sense of humor and the deep love he held for his family.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's memory to St. George Village Botanical Garden in Saint Croix, USVI
