BIDDEFORD - Thomas (Tom) Alan Masse, 60, and Michelle Madeleine (Gendron) Masse, 59, died tragically, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018.
Tom worked as an auto mechanic. Michelle worked as the manager of two motels in Farmington. Tom and Michelle were formerly of Biddeford, where Tom ran Tom's Auto Repair on Alfred Road in Biddeford. Michelle worked at the University of New England as a communications coordinator. They had resided in Franklin County, Maine for the last 12 years.
Tom was a funny and loving husband, father and grandfather, Michelle a loving mother and grandmother. The tragedy has shocked the family.
The couple was preceded in death by: Tom's father, Philip Masse; and Michelle's parents, Simone (Rodrigue) Gagnon and Richard Gendron.
The couple is survived by: their two daughters, Jessica (Masse) Dapolito and her husband, Robert, of New Sharon, and Carrie Masse of New Vineyard; Tom's mother, Martha (Gonthier) Masse of Biddeford, and his sister, Janice (Masse) Isosaari and her husband, Robert, of Pensacola, Florida. They are also survived by: Michelle's sister, Patricia (Gendron) Madore; her brother, Roger Gendron; Fern Gagnon Jr.; and Suzanne (Gagnon) Bourque. The couple is also survived by five grandchildren, Casey Ordway, Patrick Dapolito, Chasen Masse-Chelate, Jullian Merrill, and Khloe Leavitt.

My sincere sympathies to the family. I worked with Michelle in the Development/Communications office at UNE in the 80's. She was genuine and fun to be around. She was a dedicated employee and co-worker. Such a terrible loss.

Heartsick. At UNE in the late 80s Michelle and I worked together in the Development Office. I loved her. We all did.
