Mateer, Thomas Karl WATERFORD Thomas Karl Mateer, 51, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Albany Medical Center after a long illness. Thomas was born on October 16, 1957 in Albany and is the son of Ann Mateer of Prescott, Ariz. and the late Edgar Mateer. He was a longtime resident of the Albany area and graduated from Albany High School. He enjoyed sailing on the Mohawk River and loved nature. In addition to his mother, Thomas is survived by his sisters, Christine Mateer-Stifter (Ernst) of Garmish, Germany and Karin Mateer-Rojas of Latham; one nephew and two nieces, Nikolaus Prusky, Erika Prusky and Annastasia Prusky, all of Latham; aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins here and abroad. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment, Memory's Garden in Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vasculitis Foundation, P.O. Box 28660, Kansas City, MO 64188 in memory of Thomas would be appreciated.
