Thomas R. McCracken Sr. WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. Mr. Thomas R. McCracken Sr., a former resident of Washington County, Va., passed away on April 23, 2010, in Columbia, S.C. Mr. McCracken was born on Dec. 13, 1944, in Washington County, Va. He was a dairy farmer in Washington County, Va., and in South Carolina for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna "Gracie" Pickel McCracken; and one brother, Everette McCracken. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mike O'Neill of Columbia, S.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas "Tommy" Jr. and Brenda McCracken of Newberry, S.C.; four grandchildren, Casey and wife Tonya Avery, Justin Avery, Zachary Avery, and Lucas McCracken; one great-grandson, Chancellor Avery; four sisters, Louise McVey, Nettie Parris, Mary Pippens and husband Albert and Gladys Hodgson and husband Carl; one brother, Isaac McCracken and wife Dixie; and his mother-in-law, Nell Pickel of Lexington, S.C. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Rooty Branch Cemetery in Bristol Tennessee, with Rev. John R. "Bobby" Branch officiating.
