Thomas P. McMullen

Thomas "Monk" P. McMullen died suddenly on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the age of 55.

Born in Philadelphia, son of Esther P. (Freeman) McMullen and the late James E. McMullen, Monk attended Frankford High School.

He recently returned to the Lower Bucks area after living in Mississippi for the last 8 years. He had found a job that he really loved, and even though he was only with Men of Steel a short time, he felt like family there. His new boss described him as a "pearl".

Tom was well liked by everyone he met. He was easy going and his stories always brought smiles.

Monk was truly a jack of all trades. He was very handy with electrical work, plumbing, carpentry and roofing.

He enjoyed woodworking and cooking, and loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Monk was a true dog lover and an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

Tom enjoyed being by himself at times, but also loved socializing with friends.

Along with his mother, Esther, Tom is survived by his brother, James P. McMullen (Marsie), sister, Mary Ellen Fournier; nephews and nieces, Travis and James III McMullen and Denise and Melissa Fournier.

Monk will also be sadly missed by his great nephews, Aiden, Jackson, Collin and Conor and countless dear friends.

Tom was predeceased by a brother, Brian and sister, Kathleen.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may also call on Saturday, September 1, 2018, from 9:30 until 10:00 am at Saint Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at10:00 am. Tommy, you were always a lot of fun to be around, always a smile on your face and by an large one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to know. So glad you came home, God must have needed a really good handyman who could pretty much fix anything.

Tom
I was so happy when you came home to stay. It was wonderful to see you around the house again. You were a great brother, son and uncle. Already, Aiden, Jackson, Collin and Conor loved having you here. I am grateful that God brought you back before calling you home. I love you and will miss you always.
