To know my brother is to love him, so it is with great sadness that I share the devastating news of my brother Tommy´s passing. Tommy´s personality was larger than life, and I know he made an impact on so many people during his lifetime. Words are failing me as I try to write a tribute that would even begin to approach capturing the legacy that Tommy leaves behind. So instead, I am going to share a story that I hope will bring peace and comfort to everyone at this difficult time.
When it S T O R M S,
Look for R A I N B O W S
This weekend I made the difficult decision to transition Tommy to comfort care, after a brave health journey over the past few years. I was obviously heartbroken and looking for any kind of sign that what we were doing was the best thing for Tommy. A sign from God. A sign from my parents. A sign from the Universe. Any kind of sign that would indicate we were doing exactly what we needed for Tommy. The doctors said that Tommy still had some time left & he was resting comfortably, so I left the hospital to get some rest before facing the reality of what was to come. It was stormy and pouring rain when we headed outside. It was gloomy, dark, solemn, and it felt like the weather was matching my mood. On the way home from the hospital, the skies cleared & opened up...and there in the sky was the most vibrant rainbow! My heart soared when I saw it out of the corner of my eye, thinking maybe this is my sign! Then as we continued driving & were getting closer to home, right over the area of my mom´s house, I realized it was actually a double rainbow!
I like to think that this was a sign from my parents, letting me know that they would take it from here and welcome Tommy home with open arms. I´m sure that many of you in NJ had the opportunity to witness this magnificent display on that Saturday, and I am happy that I could share this beautiful moment with all of you. This touching memory will live on in my heart forever, and I hope we can all take this as a sign to be at peace knowing that Tommy is now back in the loving arms of his parents & he will be watching over us from somewhere over the rainbows.

What a beautifully written tribute to Tommy. He truly was an amazing person and his spirit will certainly live on. We are relieved that he is at peace and we know that your parents were there to welcome him with open arms.
You and Jim did an outstanding job caring for him and the love you shared is undeniable.
Love ya, Jen, George and Dylan
