Noecker, Thomas "Tom" Duane
passed away on August 25, 2011. Thomas Duane Noecker, Gilbert, AZ, passed away August 25, 2011. Born in Galesburg, IL, he attended Galesburg High School and then spent a year at the University of Illinois, Urbana. Tom served four years in the U.S. Army Band based in Fulda, Germany. Following his military service he transferred to Illinois State University, Normal, IL from which he graduated with a degree in accounting. After a year's employment with the Illinois Agricultural Auditing Association., he joined the staff at Fidelity Federal Savings and Loan in Galesburg, IL, eventually attaining the CFO position. With the encouragement and support of his entire family, he took and passed the Illinois CPA exam and modestly added that title to his name only as needed. In 1985, Mr. Noecker and his family relocated to Arizona. Here he served in the accounting department of First Central Bank before taking the position of CFO at SunWest Federal Credit Union. He retired in 2007 as President and CEO of SunWest FCU and then served on its Supervisory Committee until his death. Mr. Noecker is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Linda (nee Grow), his loving children Daniel (fiancée Tiffany), and Jennifer and her husband Vernon, and his two precious grandsons. Also, surviving him is his sister, Mary Jean Hocker (Robert), nieces Deborah and Anne, and nephew William, and their children. He was deeply loved and cherished by all. Per Mr. Noecker's request, there will be no services held. The family wishes to thank all of their friends and family for the love and support we have received during this difficult time.
