Thomas Normand Obituary
Born in Lake Linden July 16, 1932, a son of Douglas and Helen (Hebert) Normand, Tom was the second of nine children and he often recounted stories about his childhood and youth working at Valley View, the family's dairy farm. He graduated from Lake Linden - Hubble High School in 1950. He served in the United States Marine Corps in Korea.
He married Carol Dennison at St. Christine's Church in Detroit in 1957. He worked for many years in the steel fabricating industry and founded Capital Welding Corporation along with two business partners. He loved being outdoors - especially walking along the beach at Lake Superior, riding his motorcycle or working on one of his many projects.
Tom is survived by his wife Carol, 2 sons: Michael Normand of Bisbee, Arizona and Kipp Normand of Indianapolis, Indiana, and two grandsons: Christian Normand and Ryan Normand, and siblings: Clarence "Jim" (Dottie), Bernard (Connie), Ann Mahr, and Mary (Gary) Bourdeau.
A service celebrating Tom's life will be private.

My Uncle Tom was a loving, funny, caring man and I have many fond memories of him.

Tom was my dear friend - my Dad let us take the car on our graduation evening, and Tom drove . There was Donnie Lewis, Rachel Lervic, and me. We drove to L´Anse, ate dinner, and drove home. Big deal over 70 years ago. Claire Chaput. I am so sorry!
