Thomas Parsons, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 3, 2023.
Thomas "Wayne" Parsons, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023, after a lengthy battle with his health. He was surrounded by his family. Wayne was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of intelligence, wit, and boundless love.

Wayne was born on September 12, 1954, to Joe Ann Parsons and Thomas Wayne Parsons, Sr who preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife, Yvette Christian Parsons. He is also survived by his brother Brett Joseph Parsons and wife Linda Parsons; sister Krisandra Demos and husband Mark Demos; daughter Marlana Mossman and husband Thomas Mossman; daughter Clare Parsons; son Thomas W. Parsons, III; daughter Jordan T. Parsons; grandson Lincoln Mossman; nephews Jonathan Parsons and Michael Parsons, and many cousins. His memory will forever shine in the hearts of his children. He was a proud father to his children and a doting grandfather to his grandson Lincoln.

Wayne graduated from Adamson High School in Oak Cliff and went on to get his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. With grit and determination, he became a Certified Public Accountant and went to work for the Internal Revenue Service. Wayne was highly intelligent and moved quickly within the IRS. He was a revenue agent and an appeals officer but eventually decided to leave the IRS and go into private practice. He partnered with his best friend and mentor Thomas O. Bailey, CPA. They practiced together for over 30 years.

Known for his candor, brilliant mind, and charismatic presence, Wayne had an uncanny ability to recall the most distant of memories and weave it into a hilariously enthralling retelling. His infectious laughter and quick wit brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a unique talent for finding humor in life's everyday moments and was always ready with a joke.

Beyond his sense of humor, Wayne was deeply loving and caring. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he cherished the moments spent with loved ones and his dogs. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the importance of loyalty that will continue to touch the lives of those he leaves behind.

Wayne will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.

A memorial service to honor Thomas Wayne Parsons, Jr. will be held on October 6, 2023, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Dallas, Truett Chapel, 1707 San Jacinto St, Dallas, TX 75201, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate his life, share stories, and find solace in each other's company.

My dear, sweet brother, I always called you Bib, I´ll miss you until we meet again in Heaven. I know we´ll pick up on all the laughter there once more. We shared so much life together and so many good times. This picture says it all- siblings who were friends on an adventure, you holding your little sister´s hand, showing her the way through life. You were a great big brother and taught me so much. Especially how to laugh even in the tough times. Thank you for everything. I love you always, Bib.
