Thomas Dennis Ruane, Sr.

Tim and I are deeply saddened about Tom's passing. He was genuine, honest, kind and just an all-around great person. We had the utmost respect for him and loved the time we got to spend with him, always enjoying the conversation and learning something new every time. He will be greatly missed by everyone at the Vineyards.

I was very saddened to hear about Tom's passing. Tom and I both graduated from St. Peter's Prep, St. Peter's College and Fordham University School of Law, in the same classes, and got to know each other very well during those 11 years. Tom's academic achievements speak for themselves, but they only begin to tell the story of Tom Ruane. Tom was a man of character and integrity. He was was brilliant, humble, genuine, straightforward and soft spoken, and had a great Irish sense of humor. He also treated everyone with dignity and respect, and would go above and beyond the call of duty in helping colleagues, friends and family. Tom was truly the best of the best, and will be sorely missed.

Tom will be truly missed; always enjoyed our interactions...his demeanor, intellect and wit were wonderful.

We were honored to be part of his orbit and will always think fondly of him.

We started to miss Tom the minute he left Little Silver. Now we miss him even that much more. His friendship, generosity, sense of humor, & business acumen, are attributes held by very few. Tom was the guy you turned to for advice, a favor, or a trusted opinion on most any topic. As Ann, Elizabeth, Christine, & Tommy know, our lives were enriched having Tommy with us.

What a sad loss for his many friends and the community he served so well. He had a unique and magnetic personality that made him a beloved friend to so many. He could brighten any room with his upbeat and positive personality. The world will be a little darker without him in it. I'll forever miss his big smile and 'hello general' greeting. Tom was a rock to all our charitable causes. He led the group to raise funds and truly paid it forward. I will miss him dearly.
