Always in my heart, Tío Tom.

Tom was a dear friend and colleague who listened to his staff and truly cared about his school. I've known Tom for over 33 years and we always kept in contact over those many years.That was the kind of person Tom was who even in his busy schedule, kept in touch with fiends. i will miss him dearly because i lost a very good friend indeed. May Tom rest in peace in the comfort of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Heaven just got a very special angel.

Mr. Santiago was adored and loved by all who knew him. I have so many memories of him that I hold dear to my heart. I admired all his qualities that made him stand out as a principal, as a friend, a caring human being, and a true gentleman. I will always be thankful for his kindness, his gentle nature that I was lucky enough to work for at the start of my career. He embodied what all educators should be, Sweet and Kind. In Sympathy,

Mr. Santiago was my elementary school principal at P.S. 149 in Jackson Heights, Queens. I am currently a kindergarten teacher in the very same school for the past 14 years. Mr. Santiago was a very sweet and kind man. My prayers and condolences go out to his friends and family.

My mom worked with Tom in Queens and when I needed a job teaching, my first full time position was with Tom. He came to my wedding and was an angel. I am so sorry his family's loss.

Kind, sweet, funny, a gentle soul. The best principal we'd ever worked with at PS 149. You had a heart of gold. I will love you and miss you forever!
