Born on Sept. 3, 1932, in Hartford, Conn., Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy after his education at Enfield High School in Enfield, Conn. He proudly served from 1950 to 1953. He then served in the Army from 1958 to 1962. This was followed by service at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

He always had a great passion for race cars, having both driven and owned several throughout his life.

He was a good example to others as a hard worker and a person with great determination. He will be missed by many.

Tom was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Seaman; his parents, Thomas V. Seaman and Welle Peck; and brother, John Seaman.

He is survived by two siblings, brother, Bruce Seaman, and sister, Sherry Parrillo.

He is also survived by his eight children, Ron Seaman, David Seaman, Lynda Cail, Steve Seaman, Jack Seaman, Janet Buchanan, Paula Steadman and Sharon Engel; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

"Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the price we pay for love."

Tom will be buried with his wife, Nancy, at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, N.H Services will be held for family and close friends on Friday, Dec. 4.

After having lost both parents to cancer, the children respectfully request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society. (www.cancer.org).

Wow! I'm just learning of this so I'm very shocked. I knew Tom through Ossipee Senior Center, we became good friends and shared an interest in racing, I went to watch his driver Babe race and qualify @ NHMS, Tom came to visit me several times. He was a wonderful person and a very good friend. I will miss him alot. My thoughts are with his family.

Thank you, for providing a warm house to spend my "snow days" playing games and working on puzzles.
Thank you, for always making sure that I had clothing and food. Now that I am a parent, I know that is not always an easy thing to do.
Thank you, for showing me the difference between oil and transmission fluid and why they don't go in the same place.
Thank you, for my first car,and when I crashed it because I didn't listen to you about driving in snowstorms, Thank you for my second car.
Thank you, for making sure that you went to work every day no matter what, so that I knew how to be a good worker and look for that quality in a husband.
Thank you for always letting me come back home when I needed a place to stay without ever asking me why.
Thank you for sending me money overnight so I could keep my lights on another month and never making me feel bad for asking.
Thank you for all the Birthday Cards that I know you spent time, searching for the one with just the right words. I still have them all.
Thank you, for marrying such a wonderful woman so I could learn how to be a good wife and mother.
Thank you, for leting me help take care of you the last days of your life. I will hold you in my heart forever!
Thank you dad, for being the best dad you knew how to be...
With love and fondness,
Shar

I remember with appreciation and fondness the many times Dad came to my house on Christmas eve and after sharing the holiday spent the night to watch the boys on Christmas day while I had to work and had no one else to babysit. The boys loved having him there.

I remember the time when I was a teenager and was sneaking out the window when you were coming out of the garage. It was winter and I almost slid off the roof and landed on you. I didn't tell you until you were 70 years old. You still didn't think it was funny. :-)
