Thomas Skufca Obituary
Clintonville - A graveside service honoring the life of Thomas J. "Tom" Skufca, 52, of Clintonville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with full military honors rendered by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. prior to the graveside service on Tuesday at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville.
Tom passed away September 6, 2018 at his home. He was born in Newark, Ohio to Anthony "Tony" and Dorothy "Dottie" Skufca. Tom graduated from Granville High School where he played football four years and wasn't afraid to mix it up. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation and served with the elite 82nd Airborne Division as a field medic. His time in the 82nd saw him deployed to Panama, Germany and he also spent a year in Vincenzo Italy as part of the rapid deployment force at the time. He served with the 684th Medical Company of The Ohio National Guard for 20 years and retired with the rank of Sargent. He was currently employed by Anthem as a Senior Sales Account Representative and he also enjoyed his part time work at L.E.P.D.
Prompt, funny, loud, intense, generous, and big hearted are some of the words that describe this outdoorsman, sports fan, and family man known as Tom Skufca. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his wife, Belinda Skufca, and their children Nick and Sarah; brothers, T.J. and Chris (Elizabeth) Skufca; mother-in-law, Eleanor Jones; many nieces and nephews; and feline and canine companions, Rumple, Sabre, and Maggie.
A Celebration of Life After-Party will follow the graveside service at 7994 Maxtown Rd., Westerville, OH 43082.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight Columbus, P.O. Box 12036, Columbus, OH 43212.
