Thomas Slocum Obituary
Bath, Michigan
Born February 28, 1945 to Carroll and Wilma Slocum, passed away June 19, 2011 at the age of 66. Tom was a Switch Technician and worked for Michigan Bell for many years. He was a long time Boy Scout and leader, member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Bath Lions Club. Tom was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the great outdoors and always had a story to tell. He was known to many as the man with the handle bar mustache.
Tom is survived by his wife Mary of 41 years; children, Eileen Slocum, Elysia (Dan) Perkins and Mike Slocum; 7 grandchildren, Addy, Dominick, Sarah, Ethan, Kaylee, Ava and Alex; sisters, Carolyn Fowler of Marquette and Mary Longberry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, July 23, 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, MI with Fr. Mark Inglot officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at church.

Was saddened to read of Tom's death. I was looking forward to seeing him again at our 50th reunion in a couple of years. We will all miss him.

Hi, dad. I miss you tons! We did have Addy's party on Saturday. I read The Cremation of Sam McGee...the one you always recited. The kids loved it; and it was a very special thing for me to carry that on as a legacy. I hope you are happy; tell everybody I said "hello", and I'll see you when it's my turn. I love you so much! Thanks for letting me be your daddy's girl. I can't wait to see you again!
