A Saint who walked this earth has now been called to his Eternal Home. He now is a majestic angel who is there with God at his golden throne. Serving God and his fellow men was this great man's one and ultimate goal. Telling and encouraging others to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior was the story that he told. His love for his precious wife, Betty, his family, church and friends will live within each of our souls forever and his memory will never fade or end. He served this Great Country and he served his fellow man. He never looked for glory; he just always wanted to lend a hand. He loved the beauty of the mouuntains and the sunset's golden hue. He loved to see the sunrise, as it sparkled on the dew. He loved sports and officiated football games, as all of us do know. If you violated the rules, that old flag he'd certainly throw. Tom Sproule, we love you and thank God for our knowing you as a precious friend. We know we will again be together there in Heaven where time shall never end.

Betty, I am so sorry for your loss and at the same time glad I finally took the time to stop for a visit while in Wytheville several months ago. I have so many fond memories of you both as I grew up in the church. Ty called me today to tell me about the lovely memorial service and of the people she saw there that I would remember. I wish my mother could handle the trip to Wytheville. The two of you are her very favorite Wytheville folks and she would love to see you once again. She continues to do well all things considered.
With a prayer of thanksgiving for having known Tom Sproule.

Betty dear, you and Tom were so very special to us. We loved having you stay downstairs in our apartment on your trips to Green Spring Church. We still have the plaque on our wall that you gave us on one of your visits. "Bidden or not bidden, God is present." If ever you are down our way, we would love to have you as our guest again. With warm regards, Bobbe Harris and Nancy Thompson

Betty, Ellen & Tommy: Tom baptized, catechized, married and buried many an Allison. He was also a dear, close friend of the family and has been part of our celebrations and mournings, of all the special moments of our family throughout the years. His passing marks a triumphant close to a gentle, deep kind of ministry that is all too uncommon nowadays. He will be missed by all. All our love to you during this time.

Dear Betty, Ellen, Tommy - I heard about Tom through Jane Johnson and Amanda. I remember so well all of you as part of my life at Nonie and Obie's next door to the manse. And I remember Tom as a kind and gentle man always with a smile. What a loss! God has taken him to his just reward. Affectionately,

Dear Betty, Ellen, and Tommy and extended family, We all mourn with you the passing of someone so dear words are just inadaquate to discribe. Tom was so special to us, to our parents, to everyone who knew him and how much more so to you, his family. I can see my Laura running to get to him after church and jumping into his arms until the day she was simply to big to jump any longer. He was the kind of man everyone wanted to be friends with and was blessed by being his friend.
Know that the Jones girls are thinking of you and praying that God will supply your every need filling you with His mercy and grace. As one of my cherished songs says, Tom has seen the face of Jesus and we could never ask him to return to us after sitting at His feet but that doesn't mean we won't miss and yearn for his sweet, sweet spirit.
With love from Debbie and Susan, In His love and mine,
Hallett
