Wanda and family: I was truly saddened to hear that Don had passed away. He was truly a fine and gentle human being. He taught me to play Gin Rummy on Amoco flights and even let me win the odd time. He brought a civility to the oil industry not seen before. He cared about the people (and their families) who worked for him and for the communities in which Amoco operated. In other words he set the standard. It was my privilege to know him and call him a friend. You are missed Don. Wanda my thoughts are with you

Dear Wanda
Thinking of you!
I'm remembering some fun times we shared---In particular a trip the 4 of us made to Houston when Donnie took us off to a little Mexican restaurant he remembered from earlier days. Not quite as he remembered it-- but fun.
Now it seems we are sharing a time of grief since we just lost our dear Laura in a scuba accident. Darrel Purdy worked at Amoco too.
Murray joins me in sending deepest condolences to you and your family

If my sweet friend Shari (Don's daughter ) is any indication of the life he lived and the legacy he's leaving behind, then he's got to be one of the finest men I know. I'm so sorry about this precious family's great loss. Love and prayers for you all. ??

Wanda I am sorry to see that Donnie has passed. Life is so short and we need to live life to the fullest each day and thank God for it. My ex-wife, Patsy passed away on Saturday, Oct.4th. I have not seen Donnie since we left Ruston but have kept up with him thru the years. He must have had a successful life, but I knew he would. May God bless you and time will help you recover. Sincerely, your friend Bob Pettitt (Retired in Jan, 2014)
