I was thinking of Mr. Stevenson today. He was my band teacher all through high school. He was by far my favorite teacher. I know we drove home crazy, but he was always kind and did not give up hope for us. I will always remember him.

Just thought of Mr. Stevenson, my baseball coach through Oak Creek Little League between the fifth and seventh grades. A good and decent man with an easy smile. RIP, and all condolences forever.

I met Mr. Stevenson in 1981 as a fourth grader at Edgewood Elementary where he coached our basketball team. His dedication to teaching the fundamentals and the value of teamwork has inspired me to this day. I saw him at the Oak Creek Festival of Bands a few years ago and told him that the rendition of the Star Spangled Banner that he had the high school band play, is still my favorite and the version against which I compare all others. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

Mr. Stevenson was a wonderful person and one of the two best teachers I've ever had. He taught me, not only to play the trumpet, but humor, patience, expanded my love of music, and to work hard and never give up, although no matter how much I practiced, I never could play the part he tested us on right in "Get it On"! Thanks for everything, Mr. Stevenson.

My deepest condolences to the Stevenson family. I will always remember him for never giving up on a group of kids who couldn't win a ball game and always gave us hope. I will also never forget how he would loft his bowling ball half way down the alley when bowling on Sat. nights with my parents. He will be forever in our hearts.
