It is with much sadness that I learnt of the passing away of Father Stokes. Father Stokes married Jacqueline Pegg and myself, Robert Cox on May the 7th, 1960. We shared many experiences with him and his Mother, Marguerite, with our trip to Washington D.C. He also married, our first son, Steven Cox and Tina Nahdee on October 13, 1984. My prayers are with him and let perpetual light shine upon you Buddy and your soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

In loving memory of a caring, loving and understaning priest who was deadicated to patients, families and staff. You will be greatly missed but I will always cherish your loving thoughts and comfort when my grandfather passed away. Always in my prayers and memories. May you find eternal peace and glory with our Lord Jesus Christ.

I knew Fr. Tom very well when he was a colleague here in the Department of Philosophy from 1966 to 1983. We came the same year. We had wonderful discussions about philosophy, particularly philosophy of science which was his area of expertise.
We also socialized together--went to plays, enjoyed dinners together. He baptized our daughter, Mary, at the Assumption Chapel in 1971.
I remember him as having a great sense of humour--he loved to laugh and he had a great laugh that warmed all those who heard it.
He was a wonderful human being
and compassionate priest.
