I still think of Tom every now and then and smile! I can´t believe he left us all those years ago. My wife and I made it to the Cavern Club, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane and all the other spots in Liverpool, five years ago, and I would have loved to have shared that with Tom. What a wonderful man! I hope you are well, Nadine!

My son Dr Varyl Thorndycraft and I were deeply saddened this Christmas to learn of Tom's untimely death, and we send our heartfelt condolences to Nadine. We shall not forget the warm hospitality shown by Tom and Nadine to Varyl during his short time in Boston, 1997.

Tom and I sailed together aboard USS Carl Vinson and were both amateur radio operators. It was surprising to hear that he died last month. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Tom was a kind and gentle man, almost boyish in his youthful enthusiasm and interests in life. We shared a love of the Beatles and classic rock trivia, compared Navy and Coast Guard stories, and I always enjoyed being in his company. He was a valued co-worker, but more than that, he was a valued friend and a good man, indeed. My sincerest condolences to Nadine and Tom's entire family. He will be long remembered and forever missed.

I worked with Tom in the Wakefield office of AECOM and when he came to help me with my computer issues, he always led off the conversation with a joke or one of his impersonations of a TV character from the old sit-com days of the 1960's and 70's, be it Hogan's Heroes, McHale's Navy, I Dream of Jeannie, etc. You name the character, he could do them to a tee. Funny, funny guy to work with. My condolences to his family and friends.

If you met Tom, you'd never forget him. From his impersonations, quirky perspectives, trivia, IT expertise, love of the Beatles and his time on the USS Carl Vinson - and so much more - Tom was a sincerely unique personality. My deepest condolences to his family. You will meet again. Sending love from a WinCAM colleague. I am so lucky to have called him a friend. See you on the other side...
