Thomas Edward Villani

Thomas Edward Villani, age 65 of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on January 29, 1958 to Frank Paul and Martha Philomena Mormile Villani, and was the fourth of five sons. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Joan, his children Nicholas (Kay) and Melissa (Angie), his stepsons Jonathan (Megan) and Aaron (Kel). His grandchildren, Clark, Bruce and Alexa. His brothers, James Nicholas, Richard Paul (Claudia), Robert Alfonso (Tarie), and Gerald Michael. His nephew Michael Villani and niece Lynn (Michael) Woolnough. His great nieces Talia and Sadie and his great nephew Lukin.

Tom attended St. Charles Elementary and Cardinal Mooney High School before attending Kent State University, where he graduated with a BA in Telecommunications. He served in the U.S. Army in South Korea as an SP4 Telecommunications Center Operator, and was a Marksman (Rifle-M16A1). He received the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Army Commendation Medal. After serving in the Army, he graduated from Wright State University with a Master of Education degree.

Tom began his education career at Fairborn City Schools as a Social Studies teacher, then became the School Library Media Specialist. In 2004 he moved on as the Media Specialist at Sycamore Community Schools. He served in that role until he retired this past May.

Throughout his career he had the joy of coaching the boys and girls volleyball teams at the High School and Junior High level.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 14, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the Sycamore High School Theatre 7400 Cornell Rd, Cincinnati Ohio, 45242. Following the Celebration there will be a reception in the High School Hub/Media Center with light refreshments served.

Private Burial Services will take place at the Dayton National Cemetery prior to the Celebration.
