Dear Sheryl, Jennifer & Samantha

Tom Walsh………. just saying his name even though 30 years has past from high school I can’t but remember his voice (oh what a voice) as well as his face and laughter. A friend he will be for all eternity. Everything about Tom is nothing but great, happy, fun, and wonderful thoughts of a great person. Here I sit finding out about my friend’s fate on Concord’s Patriots day (April 21, 2008) from another friend. As I reflect on Tom’s relationship with me, (that of a close friend from high school) I reminisce while looking through our high school year book. His note to me saying he enjoyed our friendship, our socializing (partying) and the all around fun we had with each other. I feel I must express my feelings of sadness for our lost. Tom will be truly missed, but never forgotten. His joy will be the legacy he leaves behind with his wife and two beautiful daughters. Our thought and prays will forever be with him.

Though I am a better and happier person to have known Tom, I am saddened to only briefly have met Sheryl….. and yet to meet his wonderful daughters. I just leave you with this thought ….” day in and night out we all live our lives with the tools our parents past along to us, as for Tom he has given his family the greatest gift of all ………the gift of Remembrance, Laughter & Love “.

Sheryl,
I just heard this tragic news and want you to know you're in my thoughts.

A sad political story came instantly to mind when I heard this horrible news: when JFK died, young & unexpectedly, one of his aides said to the other, "we'll never laugh again." The latter replied, "we'll laugh again - but we'll never be young again."

Losing Tommy leaves a hole in my heart, and a rent in the world.

My love, more than ever, to the Walsh Family.

I have worked for the Fawcett Family for the past six years and knew of Tom through them. It was a privelage and honor to have known such a kind man. He spoke of your children often, and I am sure that he leaves behind a wonderful legacy for them to live on in. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Sheryl and the girls,
My deepest sympathy for your loss. It is very hard to put into words how much Tom will be missed. I worked with him for 26 years and don't ever remember a time when he didn't make me laugh or put a smile on my face. I don't think Tom realized how many peoples lives that he touched. He spoke of his girls often and how proud he was of them. May your family be comforted in the days ahead by the many cherished memories that will remain in your hearts.

My best memory of Tommy is that whenever his mother answered the phone and "her Tommy" was on it, she would just light up. She spoke with him as someone would a dear old friend, all about the day, the dog and the kids… and this was a daily occurrence. His love was evident and generous. Although I only knew him through Jill, I know what strength and comfort he gave her through tough times, and I know my father respected him deeply. It is so unfair that he is gone so soon.

My heart goes out to your family… to Sheryl, to your beautiful girls, and to our dear Jilly.

I worked for Tom briefly at Scudder-Taylor and we quickly became friends. He introduced me to my husband and Tom and Sheryl bought the house I grew up in. I know they loved it as much as I did and Tom was always so proud of all his home improvements. Steve and I will miss Tom's laughter and his friendship.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear
Sheryl and family, My deepest condonlences. My heart goes out to you,
your daughters and the rest of
the family. I worked with Tom for 17 years and he was one of the
sweetest men I've ever met. He was a true gentlemen. I remember how proud
he was when the girls were born and even later as they got older, he
would talk about them as if he was a kid himself.
I am truly sorry for your loss and may God be with you at this
difficult time and always.
With Deepest Sympathy,
