Tom was a good friend and co-worker at the National Ground Intelligence Center. He is sorely missed by not only myself but I can say with great surety by all who worked and knew him. I was proud to call him my friend. Rest in Peace Thomas - you have certainly earned it.

Tom was my Troop Executive Officer in a Cavalry Squadron located in Schweinfurt, Germany during the Cold War of the late 1980s. I could not have had a better officer as my second in command; simply put a great soldier, officer and leader. Our Troop accomplished many great things along the German Border, which was directly attributable to Tom. My deepest condolences to Elke and the family. As Tom was an Armor officer early in his career I think a quote from General George Patton was appropriate:
It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.
