I very much enjoyed working with Tom over the years at Lilly. He was a true professional, always approachable, kind and had a keen sense of humor. My sincerest condolences to Nancy and the rest of the family. DS

Tom Yoder......the name brings to me such a smile of great memories. Tom recruited me into Lilly many years ago and was my first professional manager. He taught me so much! His care for our employees, our families, life balance was all outstanding. He was such a solid man - a total family-caring person...he truly cared that all of his employees were OK. He enjoyed deliberately mixing it up and hired into our company a bunch of renegade Industrial Hygienists to totally change the culture of an enterprise. I think fondly back of all the challenges we gave him and the kindness, extreme patience, and the latitude he gave us to try and make a real meaningful difference in people's lives. The very best of a first boss....he cared so much.
I am saddened to hear of Tom's loss as when we last spoke we were going to have lunch and go through our memories together as Tom always had a special place in his heart for both myself and my husband Jon. Covid stopped him coming into town for Dr. appointments and now I can't get that time back with him. So to all us a reminder to cease the moment and take that time.
To all of Tom's family and to Nancy - your husband/father was an ICON of caring and made a very real difference to many people's lives. Mostly I will always remember his smile and sparkle in his eyes...it was magnificent.
