Timothy Barbier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 19 to Jan. 20, 2021.
Timothy J. Barbier reunited with his dad in Heaven on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the age of 64. Tim was a lifelong resident of Assumption Parish, a graduate of Assumption High School, Nicholls State University, and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. He practiced Indigent Law in addition to his private practice in Napoleonville for many years. He was very active in the Napoleonville Community and was an ongoing supporter of the local basketball programs. Tim is survived by his beloved companion, Kim Zeringue; his mother, Selma Barbier; his sisters, Sheila Barbier Cambeilh (Richard), Ellen Barbier Molina (Henry), Sally Barbier Weldon (Penn), and Mary Barbier Bigelow (Ray); his brother, Edward Barbier, Jr. (Marie); and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his cherished dog, Gigi. Tim was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Barbier; his father, Edward Barbier, Sr.; and his dear canine companion, Maycie. Due to COVID-19 concerns and regulations, there will be a private service held for the immediate family only. There will be a Celebration of his Life at a later date for all his friends that were not able to attend the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to have donations be made to the Timothy J. Barbier Memorial Fund, which will support the Assumption High School Basketball Program or have masses said in his name. Donations can be sent at www.gofundme.com/f/timothy-j-barbier-memorial-fund. Online condolences can be given at www.landrysfuneralhome.com. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Tim was a dear friend and colleague and I will miss him every time I walk into the courthouse in Napoleonville where we practiced law together. He was an exceptionally kind and intelligent man with a great sense of humor who will be missed by all of us who knew him.

To Tim’s loved ones:

I was so saddened to hear about your loss. I have such fond memories of Tim’s quiet demeanor as a student of superior merit in my English class at AHS. I sensed that he would go on to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
As you learn to live with the love Tim left behind, may you find comfort in an abundance of blessed memories! My prayers and heartfelt condolences ...
